MORE ABOUT CATALYST MINI PROGRAM

Catalyst is a unique program that provides a cohort learning environment in the heart of Vancouver's West End. Over 5 years at King George, students will receive a wide range of opportunities for academic enrichment as well as coaching and mentorship towards becoming a leader in their school community. Upon graduating high school, students will have developed a strong C.V. for applying to post-secondary institutions or joining the workforce.

ABOUT OUR STUDENTS

Applications for Catalyst are evaluated on the following three criteria:

Megaphone Protestor

LEADERSHIP

Students should demonstrate leadership in and out of the classroom. We recognize that leadership looks like many different things, and students do not necessarily need to be extroverted leaders to be a good fit for Catalyst.

Playing Guitar

PASSION

As students design and create projects in classes, it is important that incoming students already have a variety of extracurricular hobbies or interests which they can bring into their studies to enrich the learning environment for everyone.

Raising Hand for a Question

ENGAGEMENT

Catalyst students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and learning styles. Although there are no specific academic requirements for entry into the program, students are expected to participate thoughtfully in their classes and to work to improve their knowledge, skills, and understanding regardless of their starting point in each course.
